A ground-breaking cardiac clinic is gearing up for its next screening – and is looking for people who want to be tested.
The facility was established by Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in 2004 and is one of only a few in the UK.
The initiative in Colchester General Hospital was established after campaigning by the parents of a 17-year-old Frinton youngster, Andy Gard, who died from a sudden cardiac death.
The next clinic is at the hospital on January 14 in the morning.
The aim is to detect previously undiagnosed heart conditions which, if left untreated, can lead to sudden cardiac death.
Anyone between the ages of 14 and 35 can be tested.
Anyone interested in undergoing the ECG (electrocardiogram) test is asked to contact 01255 673598 and leave a message.
