A Macclesfield man is to run his first London Marathon after the 13th time of trying.
Ian Heslop, will take on the 26.2 mile race on 23 April 2023.
He is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young, after a Macclesfield teenager passed away from a cardiac arrest earlier this year.
Mia Jennings, who was just 19, passed away from a cardiac arrest in January.
Mia was a family friend of Ian’s family, so he has decided to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young in her memory.
“To those who donate, thank you very much. I had never heard of Cardiac Risk of the Young until this year.
“It feels good to support a smaller charity, and support something closer to home because of what happened to Mia.”
