The Jedi music festival held last summer in tribute to a young Southport man who died suddenly has raised £1,000 for charity.
Student Chris Haw was just 25 when he collapsed at Man to Man in Lord Street where he worked. He was a regular at the Underground club in West Street and co-managers Rich Hardie and Ross Perkins organised the Jedi (Chris was a big Star Wars fan) event in his memory. The gig raised £1,000. Another £500 was donated by Brown Turner Solicitors, where Chris’s mum Lesley works.
Jack and Jeni Haw, brother and sister of Chris, went along to Underground last Wednesday to accept the donation. The money has been given to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
