Heart checks which could save young people's lives are being offered at a hugely subsidised fee.
A screening clinic will be run at Colchester General Hospital in partnership with the CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) charity. The clinics were originally set up through the efforts and pressure from Frinton woman Caroline Gard, whose son, Andy, died from a sudden cardiac death.
On Saturday people aged 14 to 35 will be bale to have the procedure for just £35.
Screenings can detect previously undiagnosed heart conditions, which if left untreated, can lead to sudden cardiac death (SCD).
The procedure involves having an electrocardiogram (ECG), which is pain free and takes ten minutes. Screenings must be booked by calling Caroline Gard on 01255 673598, then a CRY official will call you back.
