A Johnstone woman is hoping to land her dream job – and be paid to go on holiday all year long.
Christina Leon, 24, is a finalist out of 3,000 applicants from across the UK in the big search to find the face of lowcostholidays.com
And if she wins, kind-hearted Christina will donate £1,000 to charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) in memory of her friend, Sarah Beckinsale, who died aged 22 in 2007.
the lucky winner will have a holiday abroad once a month for a year, and will write honest reviews and tips from 12 destinations around the world including Majorca, Egypt, The Dominican Republic and Rome.
The company decided on the £20,000-a-year post after their research revealed that over 70 per cent of consumers look online at blog and review sites for inspiration and advice when booking their holiday.
Christina – who enjoys learning languages, modelling and signing – said that it was 'absolutely fantastic' to find out if she had been chosen as one of the ten finalists.
She said: "I've never really been in the position to do a gap year and travel – I've never been financially well off enough. It would be great to go to places that I'd never been able to afford to be able to travel.
"I really like going to see different cultures and learning about their history.
"My ideal place would be somewhere like Morocco. It looks really eastern and romantic, and feels as thought time hasn't really moved on."
Christina, who lives in the centre of Johnstone, already loves using her creative streak to help our would-be-travellers.
She recently made her sister a survival book to prepare her for living in Canada for three months – after researching all the best places to go online.
She said: "I love that sort of stuff."
Christina's sister and mum would also benefit from the win – as they would be Christina's travel companions on two of the holidays.
She added that she would love to be able to donate cash to CRY, after her friend Sarah she had worked next to for three years passed away in 2007.
She said: "A lot of people die each week from undiagnosed heart conditions. They are normally fine until they're in their 20s.
"I've raised a bit of money for the charity but I'd love to give them £1,000."
