Staff at Hampson Hughes Solicitors have been handing out cheques to local charities following a yearlong fundraising drive through its charitable foundation.

This time last year the local lawyers embarked on a series of charitable activities including: dress down days; charity challenges and fundraising events.

Combined, staff along with the firm’s generous supporters raised £10,000 which was divided between Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), CHIC’s Children’s Cancer Support Group and Positive Futures.

A further £4,000 was also generously donated to the Hampson Hughes Charitable Foundation for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, which is currently fundraising for life-saving equipment to make the new Alder Hey in the Park a truly world-leading place.

Paul Hampson and John Hughes are joint managing partners at Hampson Hughes Solicitors and trustees of the Hampson Hughes Charitable Foundation, which they set up last year.

Commenting on the fundraising drive Paul said: “By enabling staff to nominate and then vote on the firm’s chosen charities we’re able to support causes close to their hearts, which is great for morale”.

John added: “We’re incredibly proud of our staff who are always keen to support their local communities and are really impressed with their fundraising efforts last year.”

The Hampson Hughes Charitable Foundation supports charities that assist those in need as a result of youth, age, ill health, disability or financial hardship.

After the past yearlong fundraising campaign the firm has now chosen two new charities to get behind this year. In 2015 the Hampson Hughes Charitable Foundation will be supporting Amputees and Carers Support in Liverpool and the Whitechapel Centre.
