A Market Harborough woman is raising money and awareness after her husband was diagnosed with heart failure aged just 32.

Sam Lambert was hospitalised in a life-threatening condition last year, after doctors found his heart was functioning at just 10% and his organs were failing.

Previously fit and healthy, he continues to receive medical treatment to get back to as normal life as he can.

Samโ€™s wife Tess is raising money for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) by swimming the equivalent 34km distance of crossing the English Channel โ€“ 34km โ€“ in sessions at Harborough Leisure Centre.

She is now halfway through the big challenge of covering over 1,300 lengths of the pool in 12 weeks and has raised over ยฃ400.
