Brothers Jon and Simon McNamara were big rugby fans.
They played the game at various levels and went to Twickenham together to watch England internationals.
So when Simon's life was cut short on holiday in Croatia, Jon decided a charity rugby match was a fitting tribute.
The match, between a group of Jon and Simon's friends and the Nottingham Moderns Rugby Club second team, is being played tomorrow.
Jon, 33, said the Moderns, who he used to play for, had cancelled a weekend game to hold the fundraiser.
"We hope it will be a really good day," he said. "Simon loved rugby. He played at county level when he was at school and for Durham University as well.
"We went to matches together and have been to see England play at Twickenham."
Simon, 25, died from sudden adult death syndrome while on holiday in Croatia on July 17.
The match will raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young, which raises awareness into it.
It is being played at the Moderns' ground in Main road, Wilford, from 12.45pm tomorrow.
Entry will be free, but there will be a collection at the ground. "It is good we can do this in Simon's memory," added Jon. "We have had some shirts made which we will sell after and there will be food and drink on sale, and a raffle, with the proceeds going to the charity. Simon's death happened so suddenly. We want to raise the profile of the condition by doing this."
The family originally come from the Burgage, in Southwell. Jon now lives in London.
Simon was a former Nottingham High School pupil. He had just started work as a property developer when he died.
