Matthew Dunning

Remembering our Matthew
This page is in memory of Matthew Dunning, who unexpectedly passed away on 10th September 2025, aged 20, from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS). Matthew was bright, curious and endlessly kind, his big smile, infectious humour and gentle caring nature touched everyone who knew him.
Matthew was a wonderful son and an adoring big brother to his twin sister Sophie and younger sisters Holly and Charlotte. He was living his best life and fulfilling his dream studying Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Surrey. A passionate sportsman, and loyal friend, he had a rare gift and making everyone around him feel valued, understood and at ease.
Matthew’s time with us was far too short and we miss him every day, his loss has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled. In his memory, our family is supporting Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) to raise awareness of sudden cardiac death in young people, support those affected and to fund their screening programme, research and pathology.
Donations in Matthew’s name will help prevent other families suffering such unimaginable loss and pain.
