Shoppers at Abbey centre helped get the Mayor's Christmas Charity Collection underway this weekend, as Aldermany Lynn Frazer took to her feet in aid of her three chosen charities – the Make a Wish Foundation UK, CRY and the Antrim Area Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
Volunteers from the charities will continue giving the Mayor a helping hand at her three further collection points at Ballyclare on Saturday, December 9 between 11am and 4pm; At Northcott Shopping Centre on Thursday, December 14 from 2pm to 5 pm, and Abbeycentre on Friday, December 15, between 6pm and 9pm.
The Mayor commented: "The people of Newtownabbey have always supported the Mayor's charities generously and I would ask everyone to spare a thought for others when they are out and about shopping over the next few weeks and give to the collection – every little bit counts!"
