An Egremont-born construction manager taking part in a national swimsuit pageant is using the competition to raise awareness of sudden cardiac death in young people.

Lily Pringle, who grew up in west Cumbria and now lives in Manchester, has entered Miss Swimsuit UK, a contest she says promotes confidence and health while encouraging contestants to support meaningful causes.

“I entered Miss Swimsuit UK because it gives me a platform to raise awareness about sudden cardiac death in young people,” she said. “Many people assume heart attacks only affect older people, but conditions can affect young and healthy individuals too.”
