MP gets pupils' view on future of town

Pupils at Sir William Stanier Community School have met Crewe and Nantwich MP Edward Timpson to share with him their ideas of how to re-develop Crewe town centre.

They also discussed their views on plans to move Crewe Station to Basford Sidlings, following his tour of the school and a look at plans for the new school building to replace Coppenhall and Victoria high schools.

Mr Timpson said he thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Year 8 pupils' ideas.

"It was great to see how young people are taking an active interest in the re-development of their town – something that should definitely be encouraged."

He also congratulated them on raising £300 for the charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

A school spokeswoman said the children enjoyed meeting their new MP.
