On Sunday the 20th July myself (Andrew’s Fiancee) and Jack (Andrew’s brother in law) took part in ‘Skydive for CRY!’. We did our Skydive at our local parachute centre, Black Knights (near Lancaster, Lancashire) and had a wonderful experience surrounded by friends and family to cheer us on. We set up a Just Giving page and raised just over £2,000 🥳 this money will go towards funding another screening event for young people in our community.
Despite some bleak looking weather conditions, the sun shone on us in the morning and were able to take off for our jump! After some initial nerves, we set off to the UKs highest altitude skydive, a staggering 15,000 ft! The skydive was amazing and such an exhilarating experience that we will remember forever. Thank you, Black Knights, for making the experience unforgettable and to the great instructors who made me feel safe and confident throughout the entire jump.
It feels like a wonderful achievement and we are both proud to have raised money and awareness in Andrew’s memory ❤️
We lost Andrew suddenly and unexpectedly to SADS in January 2021 and since then family, friends and the wider community have all worked hard to raise impressive amounts of money to host these potentially life saving heart screenings. Our aim is to continue doing so for as long as can, so that other families do not have to go through the same thing.
Andy, you are forever loved and forever missed – we hope you enjoyed watching us today!
