On Saturday 18th October, twelve members of the Oxygen team, accompanied by two dogs and one very enthusiastic seven-year-old, took on the Malvern Hills to raise funds and awareness for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
The group raised over £800 in support of CRY’s mission to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in young people — a cause that carries special significance for us following the sudden passing of my brother Roger just two months ago.
Although several colleagues were unfortunately unwell and unable to join due to the seasonal lurgy, those who could attend embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and good humour. Travelling from different parts of the country, the team came together for a day filled with great company, fresh air, and community spirit.
Even minor mishaps — including forgotten dog leads, a missing sponsorship banner, and the inevitable stepped-in dog poo — couldn’t dampen spirits. The weather was kind, and laughter carried us along the hills as we completed our first-ever Oxygen charity hike.
We’re proud to have supported CRY and hope to continue building on this momentum with future team challenges and fundraising events.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and supported us — together we’re helping to save young lives. 💙
