The singer has become a patron of Cardiac Risk in the Young which provides screening for undiagnosed heart defects for people aged between 14 and 35. She sang at the House of Commons last week at a reception to mark the charity’s 15th anniversary.
“I’ve become a patron of Cry because it affects so many young people, and it’s crazy that a seemingly fit and young person can just drop down dead,” said Lott.
“I feel it’s important to raise awareness and will be using my new role to spread the word to young people.”
