September 2010
Preston Swimming Club took part in a sponsored swim for CRY in which 95 swimmers swam varying distances, from the youngest members swimming 100 meters to the senior swimmers completing 5000 meters in the allotted pool time.
The reason for the club organizing this event is that one of the swimmers is myself, Chris Smith, and I have a lot to thank CRY for as in March 2009 I went along to one of your screenings as a fit and healthy swimmer (or so I thought).
At the screening I was diagnosed with Wolfe Parkinson White Syndrome, I was then referred to Sanjay Sharma in London who then performed more tests and recommended me to have a Catheter Ablation. I had the procedure in November 2009 and was given a clean bill of health in Feburary 2010. I am now back swimming fit and well, and leading a normal life thanks to you.
The club raised £3390 in total.
