Pride of Birmingham Award and unveiling the Dan Hughes Memorial Garden

Sue and Dave Hughes opened the Dan Hughes Memorial Garden at Audley Football Club over the weekend. Sue entered and won a Jewsons competition for funding a community garden which provided £10,000 of building materials. It was designed by Dan’s friend Matt Hennessey, and project managed by Simon Turner.

After winning the Pride of Birmingham award and being put forward for the Pride of Britain award, Sue and Dave have now been nominated for a Sentinel Our Heroes award. To date they have raised over £210,000 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) so that 1,400 young people aged 14 to 35 could have their hearts screened.
