The Race To The Stones 100k last weekend went really well.
Leaving the house at 5.30am Saturday morning was tough, knowing that the start wasn’t until 8am. The morning was grey and gloomy, not good to lift the spirits for the challenge ahead.
Before I knew it I was there, registration done and start gun fired! ‘Gulp, am I really about to do this’ was all I could think! But what a fantastic adventure it proved to be and the weather couldn’t have been better. I had decided to do the challenge in 2 parts, stopping at 51km and camping overnight at Base Camp. It was all so well organised, tents provided, food, chill-out zone, even ‘light entertainment’. The finish was quite emotional, it took me a few minutes to compose myself for the photos!
So that’s challenge 2 done! Now for the next one!
