Run to the Beat 2012

Thank you and congratulations to all the CRY runners who took part in this event. Even though it was a very cold day, the music and atmosphere helped to keep everyone in good spirits.

rttb12aThis year as previous years, CRY did not have a charity marquee at the event but set up a ‘meet-and-greet’ stand to welcome back our fantastic runners. Volunteer photographers Gavin Boyce, David Playford and Matt Jackman were situated at different points along the route to capture shots of CRY runners, as they battled through the icy wind to complete the half marathon.

The stand was manned by CRY staff Cara MacMillan, Nicola Taylor; and volunteer Gavin Boyce. Cara and Nicola gave out goody bags to CRY runners and thanked them, while Gavin took photographs of our runners with their medals.

We had a record 43 runners in the CRY team at this event:

Lewis Andrews and Scott Hitchman (running in memory of Stevie Jivani); Danielle Bidos; Beth Champion; Emma Goater; Laura Hutchings; Kate Lloyd and Georgina Smith (running in memory of Seb English); Kayleigh Blackburn (running in memory of Adam Rowbottom); Jodie Brooks and Olivia Wise (running in memory of Charles Curtis); Nicola Carter and Alison Wiggins (running in support of James Murray); Helen Clancey Chronnell and Caroline English (running in memory of Liam Daniel Chronnell); Stephen Donoghue; Suzanne Dray; Claire Guest and Raymond Maher (running in memory of Ralph Murwill) Sam Gilbey (running in memory of Alex Ciccui / Arpaillange); Mandy King (running in memory of Paul Wilkins); Charles Matthews (running in memory of Ben Daniels); Elizabeth Nixon (running in memory of Niamh Herlihy); Rebecca Perry (running in memory of Shannon Powell); Elizabeth Porter (running in memory of Alex Watley); Susannah Povey (running in memory of Ollie Marsden); Bethany Roberts (running in memory of Funda); Kirsty Smith (running in memory of Ben Newton); Ellie Tait (running in memory of Emma Broad); Fiona Taylor (running in memory of Thomas Fleetwood); Hannah Ashton; Joseph James Aston; Niall Connell; Daniel Connell; Higor Gil; Amy Mercer; Caris Newson; Alexandra Reed; Briony Rose; Hossen Solim; Victor St. Ange; Christopher Tongue and Emma Wade.

Nicola and Cara thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the runners who worked so hard to support us. We would like to thank our volunteers Gavin Boyce, David Playford and Matt Jackman for kindly taking photographs of the event. If any of our runners have additional photos, particularly action shots, please do send them to [email protected].

If you would like to run for CRY in the next Run to the Beat Half Marathon – Sunday 8th September 2013 – please email [email protected] for further details.
