Runners taking part in this year's Coventry Fun Run will be wearing T-shirts emblazoned with a photograph of one-year-old Reece Goodman.
A group of 60 friends and family will be taking part in the charity event in memory of the tot who died last October from Dilated Cardiomyopathy.
The condition is a disease of the heart muscle that causes the heart to become enlarged and pump less strongly.
The Coventry Telegraph reported previously how tragic Reece died a week after his first birthday.
Mum Lara Daly, aged 21, of Plumphouse Close, Hawkesbury Village, said: "Reece was a beautiful little boy. He had the biggest brown eyes and he was the most placid little boy you could ever meet. He would be extremely proud of everybody taking part.
"I was expecting about 20 people to take part but lots of people have been up for it."
The group of friends and family will be raising funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
The charity, was which founded in 1995, raises awareness about sudden cardiac death and sudden death syndrome.
Reece's dad Rob Goodman is hoping an event will be held each year to keep Reece's memory alive.
He said: "The more we can do to raise awareness of the condition the better, and we will be doing anything we can to raise money for other people.
"There is also an idea of a charity night – hiring out a venue and perhaps doing a race night and a quiz.
"We personally didn't know anything about the condition until last summer."
This year's fun run will be taking place on July 1 and will start and finish at the War Memorial Park in Earlsdon, Coventry.
The four and a half mile route through the city streets raised £67,000 last year for a host of good causes.
