The family of a teenage girl who died suddenly will open a hair and beauty salon in her memory as they fulfil her dreams. 

Maddy Campbell was just 17 when she did not wake up on the morning of September 14, 2021.

Examinations carried out following her sudden death revealed she had a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which caused her heart to fail.

In the years since her passing, Maddy’s family have carried out a number of fundraising efforts and raised £22,000 in her name in 2023 – funding heart condition tests.

Maddy was born and raised in Colchester and went to primary school in Copford.

She then attended Honywood School in Coggeshall where she was well-liked.

This weekend, the family will open a hair and beauty salon in an effort to create a legacy in Maddy’s memory.
