Members of Shree Prajapati Association (SPA) Wellingborough were delighted to take part in the 42nd International Waendel Walk on Saturday 13 May.
Twelve walkers set off for their 9 mile journey from The Castle Theatre in Wellingborough which took in Chester House near Rushden Lakes and the villages of Great Doddington and Wilby before finishing back at The Castle Theatre. Setting off at 9am, they were delighted to finish at 1pm with a few stops along the way for rest and refreshments.
The Wellingborough walkers have been doing this walk for 16 years raising funds for their nominated charity each year. Over the years, they’ve raised close to £50,000 for local, national and international charities. This year we’re pleased that they’ve nominated CRY as their chosen charity.
SPA are a national organisation with roots on Gujarat, India. Members are based across 14 branches across England. The primary aim of the group is to promote Hindu cultural, social and charity events. All are welcome to attend at their events.
The Wellingborough branch will be making their cheque presentation to CRY at a charity fundraiser on Saturday 4 November where they’ll be celebrating their activities with guests and members.
