IOC adopt heart screening recommendations

EISnewsThe English Institute of Sport today welcomed moves by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) aimed at reducing the number of Sudden Cardiovascular Deaths in Sport.

The IOC’s Medical Commission have adopted recommendations that athletes be screened for heart problems prior to competing.

Dr Greg Whyte, EIS Director of Science and Research believes the move will prevent deaths.
