This memorial fund has been set up by the family to help CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, support those affected, support CRY’s screening programme and fund research and pathology.
We as a family are raising money for CRY in Tracey’s memory.
Tracey passed away suddenly at work in our mother’s arms on 2nd April 2016 at a young age after going to work with seemingly no symptoms that we are aware of. Tracey did not have any signs or build up to her passing away. She had undiagnosed atheroma and aortic stenosis, and there was nothing the paramedics could do to resuscitate her.
Tracey was an amazing person, sister, daughter, granddaughter, friend and a fantastic hair dresser. Tracey doted on her nephews and was an amazing aunty – playful, kind, funny, silly and spoilt them rotten.
Tracey was a hairdresser for a very very long time and put a lot of hours and devotion into her job and her clients.
She is missed more than words can explain and losing her has left a very very large Tracey sized hole in our hearts.
Raising money for this charity will never bring my sister back to us, but if it opens the possibility of even one family out there from going through what we did back then and still do to this day our work is doing right. We aim to reach the younger generations to encourage them to get any untoward symptoms checked and monitored appropriately to have a fighting chance at preventing something like this happening.
Sudden cardiac deaths can be reduced by early diagnosis and correct treatment so please do not ignore any symptoms no matter how insignificant they may seem.
We aim to hold a charity fundraiser every April in Tracey’s memory around the anniversary of her death
