A doctors' surgery has a new ECG machine to help detect heart problems in patients thanks to a national charity.
Cardiac Risk in the Young – CRY – asked to install the new machine at Dr Newman and partners surgery in Forest Road, Hugglescote, to help the local people. The machine was donated to CRY by the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation and will help to detect cardiac abnormalities which can lead to Sudden Death Syndrome.
The machine has been dedicated to the memory of Patrick Scotton, whose sister is now a representative of the charity.
Patrick was aged just 22 and a fit sportsman who played football for Charnwood Rangers when he died in 1995. Tracey said: "My brother died of this heart condition. This ripped our world apart."
