On the 5th of September myself, Lauren, Simon and Stephen set off on the West Highland Way with the weather warm and bright. The first twenty miles were covered in six hours leaving only seven miles to go. The route took us down a steep hill that went on and on until we got to the first hostel with sore feet and blisters.
On the second day we had to cover twenty five miles. Simon’s feet were already very sore and blistered and after the second day he had to drop out, he was very upset but he couldn’t go on. The distance was never the problem, the terrain is very unforgiving, up and down and very long paths but the scenery is breathtaking and worth all the pain.
The third day about twenty six miles again in the wilderness twenty miles to Kings House after that only nine miles to go up the Devils Staircase and into Kinlochleven to the Blackwater Hostel. Sixteen miles left to walk into Fort William. We would like to say thank you for the opportunity to help your charity may our efforts help your work.
