In loving memory of Jude MacDonald (19 October 2006 – 01 January 2023), this memorial fund has been created by his family to support Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in reducing the number of young sudden cardiac deaths. Jude was a kind, gentle, and joyful young man who loved gaming, football, and spending time with his friends and family. His unexpected passing from a rare heart condition at just 16 has left an unimaginable void. Through this fund, we aim to provide free cardiac screenings for young people aged 14–35 in Westhill and across Aberdeen and the Shire, helping to detect hidden heart conditions and save lives in Jude’s name.
Jude was born on October 19, 2006, in ARI Aberdeen, a precious son to Eric and Ruth and brother to Lois and Maya.
Jude embarked on his educational journey at Scouthall Playgroup in Westhill before moving on to Elrick school. He spent seven joyful years there before transitioning to Westhill Academy, where he was in his fifth year. Jude had a fondness for the social aspects of school, though he was less enthusiastic about the academic work. Despite this, he successfully passed all his Nat5s and was preparing for his higher exams.
