London Landmarks organisers are still working with local authorities to try and secure an alternative date. However, in the meantime they have now introduced a virtual event, the Local Landmarks Half Marathon 2020 Challenge.
This is a solo virtual challenge that encourages everyone to run around their local landmarks. London Landmarks runners can run the half marathon distance, but 5k or 10k distance also qualify for the challenge. It will be an opportunity to make the most of your training and continue to fundraise if you would like to.
CRY Runners are able to take part in the challenge from now until the 3rd May 2020. You will all shortly receive your race pack in the next few days from the London Landmarks organisers. To take part, please follow the steps below:
1. Register for the Local Landmarks Challenge for free here
2. Run their solo Local Landmarks Challenge
3. Record their run on any tracking app, for example: Strava, Garmin, RunKeeper etc
4. Submit a picture of their solo run from their tracking app here to claim their medal.
This is a solo, virtual challenge. The London Landmarks team are asking runners not to organise to do this in groups. Current government advice is that it’s safe to run outside at a safe distance from other people. Please read the Government’s guidance which can be found here and adhere to it at all times. If the government advice changes, the Local Landmarks Challenge will be paused, and re-opened once it is safe to do so.
