Event Write-up

Linedance in memory of Anthony Child

We had our annual linedance charity social on the 20th August 2016. Once again we had a brilliant crowd to support the event. Their generosity and enthusiasm for the CRY cause helped to raise the sum of £1,700 on the night. The sum raised was a combination of money on the night and very kind donations

Richmond Marathon in memory of Emma Broad

On September 18th I ran the Richmond Marathon, raising money for CRY. I was running in memory of a friend who sadly passed away at the age of 16 from an unknown heart condition. Emma was a teammate of mine and is dearly missed by so many, on and off the hockey pitch. It was my

Oxford Half Marathon in memory of Sian Roger

Emily, Claire and Hannah ran the Oxford Half Marathon on Sunday 9th October, raising money for CRY in memory of Sian Roger. The sun was shining along a scenic Oxford route, with people out in their numbers cheering everyone on! It was a really enjoyable run and we were all pleased with our efforts. So far

Michael Fisher Memorial Trophy

On Sunday July 3rd 2016 a 7-a-side Football tournament was held in memory of my little brother Michael Fisher. 17 teams of 9 (2 subs in each team) pitted a wide range of football abilities against each other for the “Michael Fisher Memorial Trophy”. Michael attended a similar football tournament in previous years with his work

Robin Hood Half Marathon in memory of Craig Wilson

I completed the run in 2h 10mins 55 sec. I will have to admit I found it really hard, but the support we received from supporters, friends and family helped get me through. Whilst on the run, I received a tap on the back from another runner who was also running for CRY, passing on encouragement

Walk Mount Snowdon in memory of Ronnie Armitage

We were all prepared and ready for the climb with the children extremely excited. We drove to the mountain from our accommodation nice and early ready for a 9am climb. The weather was extremely windy, which was against us, we managed to reach halfway after 2.5 hours and were in quite a wet windy environment which was

Golf tournament in memory of Richard Shaw

This year we held a charity golf tournament in the name of our dear son and brother Richard. We had a very good day with the weather being good after a lot of rain in previous days. We were a little disappointed with the response we got from most of the golf companies we sent out

Charity 6-a-side cricket trophy in memory of Lee Wilson

The day started at 10am but the English summer weather decided to get involved and we had to stop for an hour for the rain to move on past. We started again and the weather started to brighten. The games went to plan and the final started 25 minutes later then planned which wasn’t too bad.

Charity Boot Camp in memory of Dale Tennent-Butler

I have recently become a member of Inspired Kings Langley (two months ago). It is a really friendly and results-driven business and I have felt very welcome. When I told them about what happened to Dale they said they were keen to help raise awareness of sudden arrhythmic death in young people, and myself and my

Ealing Half Marathon – Astrid Stealey

3 years ago this month my little sister collapsed suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of only 23. She was rushed to St Georges hospital and spent several days in an induced coma whilst we all anxiously waited to understand if and how she would recover. Thankfully she woke up and slowly over the next
