Zumba to the MAX

On 18 August 2017 representatives from North Dorset Rugby Football Club (NDRFC) hosted “Zumba to the MAX” a Charity Zumba event in memory of one of the clubs most loved first team captains (Max Biles) and in aid of CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). Rugby players, their partners and their children danced, pranced and strutted

Skydive in memory of Anthony Williams

On Sunday 20th August 2017 I went to Skydive Swansea to do my 12,000ft tandem skydive charity jump after seven months of planning and fundraising. The jump was one of THE best, most exhilarating moments of my life and I loved every second – including the 45 second freefall and initial 180mph speed! I chose to

Skydive in memory of Shaun Palmer

I’ve always wanted to do something special for my brother Shaun and raise money for his memorial fund and also to raise awareness. I recently had my baby boy, Blake, and wish my brother was here to meet him. It was a lovely feeling to be up in the sky floating down thinking this is the

Charity Skydive Experience

My skydiving event for Cardiac Risk in the Young took place on the sunny (and thankfully, windless!) morning of 7th June, after being postponed the week prior. You have to match the weather to your skydive and my skydive was supposed to be on 30th April, however that day the wind in the upper atmosphere was gale

London to Paris Cycle in memory of Owen Morris

In August, Cardiff medical student Elin Harding and her father Andy cycled from London to Paris to raise money for CRY. They were inspired to undertake this adventure in memory of their dearly missed relative, Owen, who tragically passed away from sudden cardiac death on 3rd September 2013 aged just 13. Starting in Greenwich they cycled

24 hours is a long time in cycling!

This weekend was “the big one” and I’m happy to say that I did better than I feared I would do – though there’s still a lot of room for improvement. I first want to thank everyone who helped out on the day, particularly my pit crew, and everyone who sponsored me in the middle of

Body Shop Fundraiser

On Friday 22nd September, we hosted a Body Shop fundraiser along with Body Shop at Home consultant Stephanie Doorbar. As well as selling Body Shop products, we had a raffle, nails being painted and biscuits for sale. Everyone who attended had a great night, and we raised £300. Thank you to everyone who came to support

Germany Black Forests Cycle & Birthday Celebration in memory of Liana

From the 2nd – 9th September, I undertook a sponsored bike ride in memory of my beautiful Granddaughter Liana. I was raising money for CRY to help their research into heart problems in young people. The Black Forest is a beautiful area, but I had never seen such steep mountains. It was, by far, the hardest
