Jack Thomas was a gifted, well liked player at Blackwood RFC, it was a shock to hear of the family’s devastation at the loss of their son and brother. We all decided as a club we would like to be a part of the fundraising, as we knew Jack and CRY is such a worthy charity.
In December 2012 our beautiful mum, Caroline Macdonald passed away at the age of 38. We wanted to do something in her memory and to help save others who are at risk. We challenged our dad and step-mum to run a half marathon and 10k as part of the Great Scottish Run on October 1st 2017.
Birmingham Half Marathon in Memory of Carl Buckley who passed away in December 2016. Race day was excellent, thousands of happy and excited people lined up at the start line. I was unsure about doing the skydive first of all, but knowing I was doing it for Paige and knowing that I wanted to make her proud, gave me the push to do it! It was such an incredible feeling, and I would really like to do another skydive for CRY in the near future. Charlotte
Over 230 CRY supporters took part in the 8th CRY Durham Walk, newly rebranded as the CRY Heart of Durham Walk, to reflect the revised route which includes Durham’s historical City Centre. The 15th September 2017 in the Centenary Theatre Liam O’Sullivan premiered his documentary “Harrys Heart”, this one hour documentary was cut down from over 50 hours of footage shot over 18 months. The documentary aims to educate the audience on the great work done by CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) through the telling of Harry’s story

On 10th September, Team Megan’s Mayhem undertook the last quarter of The Thames Challenge.
