I am sending CRY a cheque for £300 raised at our Charity Football Match in memory of Kevin Sayer, who was my son Colin’s best friend. Kevin was aged 18 when he died suddenly in his sleep, due to Restrictive Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. The match was also in memory of Matt Green, who died aged 19 from
12th August 2006 I teamed up with Camilla Keates who lives in Woodbridge – she is linked with CRY through the loss of her cousin, Sebastian English – to set up a yearly music event in this quiet Suffolk town. This year, we went for the Rock genre of music, with three bands performing for us.

Mark Dee-Shapland and three friends – known as Team Buzz – cycled the length of France to raise money and awareness for CRY, in memory of Mark’s sister Claire. 9th July 2006 On a wet Sunday morning, five employees from Preston Crown Court, including myself, set off into unknown territory. After little training, but lots of spirit, we began a 5km run through the streets of Preston – hoping more than expecting that we would complete the course. Adam Roberts and I [Matt Chesterman] completed the London to Paris Cycle Ride, which ran from the 21st to the 25th of June. We had the evening of the 24th of June in Paris, as well as the whole day on the 25th – which was well needed to get over the saddle sores! And I
27th to 29th May Brothers Richard and Adam Fry (right) took an aging Volkswagen Jetta to the famous Nurburgring Race Circuit in Germany, for a fun Track Day, where members of the public can drive the course. Before heading off to Germany, Richard and Adam spent some time making the car ready for its track debut.
7th May 2006 Leeds Met University students Luke Stocks and Stephen Jackett organised a 6-a-side football tournament to raise awareness and money for CRY.
