Caerphilly Observer, 17th August 2018 Customers of Sainsbury’s Pontllanfraith voted for CRY and the Jack Thomas Memorial Fund to become the new charity partner for the store. Jack Thomas was a gifted, well liked player at Blackwood RFC, it was a shock to hear of the family’s devastation at the loss of their son and brother. We all decided as a club we would like to be a part of the fundraising, as we knew Jack and CRY is such a worthy charity.
June Thomas has been officially presented with a British Empire Medal for her fundraising work for Cardiac Risk in the Young & Jack’s Appeal. HoldtheFrontPage – 30th January 2014 Jack’s Appeal is a campaign to get defibrillators installed in every secondary school in Gwent. Jack died from sudden cardiac death in 2012, and since then his family have been fundraising for CRY heart screenings, and workings with Welsh Hearts to install defibrillators locally. Read more

On Sunday 9th September 2012, Grant Thomas and Emily Brown took part in the Cardiff 10k in memory of Jack Thomas. Grant completed the run in 54 mins and Emily in 1hr 12 mins and they raised a wonderful £1,142.00 in Jack’s memory. “On 9th September 2012, Emily Brown (Jack’s girlfriend) and I ran the Cardiff
