I completed a successful summit of the highest mountain in the western hemisphere, Aconcagua, in memory of my fiancé Lesley and unborn daughter Rosina, who died in May 2013. The expedition, in December 2015, took nearly three weeks and reached 6,980 metres. I managed to raise £7,335.80. Through the tough times, I was able to draw

Tees Barrage 10k run

I decided to take part in the Tees Barrage 10k run and contribute to CRY because my youngest son was given the opportunity to be tested for heart defects when he was 16, and thankfully all was fine. I raised a total of £337. Ann Wright

Greggstival 2015 in memory of Gregg Shoults

Greggstival started as a celebration of what would have been my brother’s 30th birthday. When I celebrated my 40th, I called it Fiestival and he said he wanted Greggstival for his 30th. So, we had to continue with his wishes. The first Greggstival came together in a bit of a blur really as Gregg passed away

Blaydon Race – Heather Pygall

This is a photo of us before the Blaydon Race, (I’m in the middle) great experience and I finished it in 1hr 25 seconds, first time I have ever done a sponsored run, started running in January 2016, so I was really pleased with my time. Lots of support from bystanders and the weather was beautiful so

Charity ball in memory of Aaron Dixon

The evening for me was an extremely emotional night but also enjoyable in that all Aaron’s close friends attended with their partners and families. Aaron’s friends have been a huge support to myself, Gary and Hollie since we lost Aaron. Christmas was Aaron’s favourite time of year and that was where the idea came from to

Bazar International de Luxembourg in memory of Oliver Thompson

Since I learned about Ollie’s sudden death and the work Cheryle and Graham have done in his memory to raise awareness and to fund screenings, I’ve been wondering how I could help. Every year, I volunteer with the British stand of the International Bazar, working the whole weekend to sell British products to visitors and selling
